Beginner Level

Kundalini is the oldest style of yoga. It is based upon the tradition of Tantric Yoga and is mentioned in the Upanishads. Kundalini yoga first was introduced to the western world by Yogi Bhajan in 1969 and spread pretty rapidly. Kundalini is focused on breathing techniques, movement series and primary energy channels.

The purpose is to awaken the kundalini energy in the sacrum. Kundalini yoga is also referred to as “mindfulness yoga”. Opens your heart and mind, frees your spine. Works on the emotions and emotion body, opens spiritual and mental blockages, provides spiritual transformation, forms body and mind synergy. Get ready to be shocked if you are experiencing Kundalini Yoga the first time. Kundalini yoga is very different than other yoga styles and could have a shocking effect. Some of the qualities that separate Kundalini yoga from other styles are the dancing, mantras, jumps, staying in the poses for a longer period and consecutive breathing.
